Organic substrate performance additive
A unique organic lakeweed additive, enriched with sapropel, has been specially developed for substrates and other fibrous growing media. It helps the substrate absorb water more quickly, improves water-holding capacity, and supports more balanced moisture management throughout cultivation. By combining natural organic components with the benefits of sapropel, it also contributes to improved substrate performance and plant support.

The extra humus helps improve overall substrate fertility by supporting better availability of nutrients for plants. It also promotes more efficient plant-food uptake through improved cation exchange capacity and contributes to a stronger root system.
This additive helps the substrate retain moisture more effectively, which can reduce the need for frequent watering. It also helps minimize nutrient washout, especially NPK loss, and provides a useful water buffer in dry substrates.
The additive is 100% organic, biodegradable, and vegan, making it a more environmentally responsible choice for modern growing practices. It supports substrate performance while aligning with sustainable and eco-conscious cultivation goals.
The recommended dosage of Hortimed Humus Additive is 500–1000 ml per m³, depending on the type and composition of the substrate. In our production facilities, the additive is applied using specialized knapsack sprayers to ensure accurate and consistent dosing. The same equipment and application method used for conventional wetting agents can also be used for Hortimed Humus Additive, making integration into existing substrate production processes simple and efficient.

- Extra-Nutri also led to a larger leaf area and higher chlorophyll content, indicating stronger canopy development and improved photosynthetic potential.
